Nitronic 50

Synopsis

Nitronic 50 is an austenitic premium stainless grade that provides better corrosion resistance than 300 or 400 series stainless. The combination of strength, anti-corrosive material, and non-magnetism makes this alloy a top choice for high-risk applications such as medical implantations. It also remains non-magnetic in cold environments, unlike other austenitic grades. Nitronic 50 has an equivalent ASTM: XM-19.


Resistance

Nitronic 50 offers the best resistance/strength over all other materials near its price including our other austenitic stainless grade 316. In the high strength condition, Nitronic 50 can withstand high temperature and sub-zero environments allowing it to be used for critical applications. In non-critical applications, it has strength up to double that of 316 stainless steel.


Processing

Depending on the manufacturing process, Nitronic 50 has the capability to increase over double the yield tensile strength of 316 stainless steel. Premium Alloys offers Nitronic 50 in two conditions, condition Annealed and condition HS. Nitronic 50 has low magnetic permeability in all of its conditions.
